# 1.Accept the unsolvable

Unfortunately, according to relationship scientist John Gottman, 69% of relationship conflicts are persistent problems, meaning they revolve around issues that tend to resurface no matter how long you’ve been together. If you find a problem seems to call up painful emotions, you’re looking at one that’s persistent.

To stop this trouble from ruining your relationship, you’ll need to address the bigger issues underlying your difficulty. Take turns discussing with your partner what this loaded issue really means to you. When your partner is talking, your job is to listen, be non-judgemental and to find something in her perspective that makes sense to you. When it’s your turn to talk, she should be doing the same thing. By treading more gently into touchy areas, you should at least be able to agree to disagree or make some small concessions for one another. Join us as we take the the lessons step by step.
in our next lesson we will be looking at step 2.... FOCUS ON WHAT'S FIXABLE . SEE YOU THERE.

Death toll rises in Venezuela protests. A National Guard soldier and a pregnant woman have been killed

A National Guard soldier and a pregnant woman have been killed in the latest protest-related violence in Venezuela, authorities said.
The head of Venezuela’s congress, meanwhile, said on Monday that a top opposition politician had lost her seat and is no longer immune from prosecution for allegedly fomenting violence in the anti-government protests.
A series of protests against the government of President Nicolas Maduro began five weeks ago, less than a year after Maduro succeeded the late Hugo Chavez. At least 32 people have died in the subsequent violence.
The National Guard member, Sergeant Miguel Antonio Parra, died on Monday during a street demonstration in Merida, said the southwestern city’s mayor, Carlos Garcia.
The opposition politician said Parra was shot when he and two other National Guard soldiers were trying to clear the roadways and were confronted by protesters.
The woman who was killed, 28-year-old Adriana Urquiola, died Sunday night in Guaicaipuro, said the mayor of the municipality just outside the capital of Caracas.
Five months pregnant, Urquiola was shot after she left a bus that was stuck in traffic because of a barricade built by anti-government protesters.
She had begun walking toward the road block but did not appear to have been participating in the protest. It was unclear when she was fired upon.
General Padrino Lopez, head of the armed forces’ strategic operational command, said Parra and Urquiola were “assassinated at the barricades of terror.” Street barriers have become flashpoints for violence during the protests.
Supporters of both sides and members of the security forces have been among those killed in the country’s worst unrest in a decade.
The demonstrators are demanding political change and an end to high inflation, shortages of basic foods, and one of the highest rates of violent crime in the world.
Opposition politician dismissed
As the political fallout from the protests continued, Diosado Cabello, who heads the Venezuelan congress, said opposition lawmaker Maria Corina Machado had violated the constitution by addressing the Organization of American States (OAS) last week.
She had addressed the bloc at the invitation of Panama, which ceded its seat at the Washington-based group so she could provide regional diplomats with a first-hand account of the unrest.

Kaduna State holds security summit for monarchs over killings in the region

Alarmed at the killings of over 100 persons in three villages in Kaura Local Government Area of the State, the Kaduna State Government on Tuesday organised  a retreat for traditional rulers in the state with the governor, Mukhtar Yero, asking those perpetrating killings in the state to fear God and stop the dastardly act.
The governor spoke while declaring open  the two-day retreat for traditional rulers in the state aimed at enhancing their capabilities in dealing with emerging security challenges  on Tuesday in Kaduna.
Besides, Yero,  while decrying the killings in Ugwar Sankwai, Ungwar Gata and Chenshyi, in Kaura LG of the  state penultimate Saturday,  said government would assist in rebuilding burnt houses in the affected villages so as to hasten the return to normalcy in the area.
The villages were attacked by gunmen, suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
He added that government was working with the relevant security agencies in the state to increase their presence in the affected areas to forestall future attacks on residents.
The governor, who decried the trend of wanton destruction of lives and property in the state in particular and the nation at large, noted that it was  high time such killings were halted through collaborative efforts of stakeholders at all levels.
He said it was unfortunate that some persons  took delight in taking lives of innocent souls without any justification, adding that there was no reason to do that.
”We need to know why people are now killing fellow humans the way they kill ants. People talk about differences in tribe or religion as the cause of what is happening, but we have all these differences in the past and we lived in peace. So, why can’t we live in peace now? We need to find out what has gone wrong,” he said http://loverytnews247.blogspot.com/

Court Dismisses Suit To Stop President Jonathan in 2015.

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!!!
Court Dismisses Suit To Stop President Jonathan in 2015.
The Federal High Court in Kaduna on Monday struck out a suit challenging the eligibility of President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2015 general election.
...
The suit, instituted by Shuaibu Lili and one other, had sought a declaration barring the president from contesting the 2015 presidential election.
Counsel for the plaintiffs, Mohammed Ibrahim, had argued that Jonathan haven been sworn into office twice as president has no constitutional right to contest for the post again.
He cited Sections 145, 142 and 146 of the Constitution which limits the tenure of the president and governors to a maximum of eight years.
The plaintiffs had also sought for an order to restrain the Peoples Democratic Party, joined as defendant, from fielding Jonathan as its presidential candidate in 2015.
In her ruling Justice Evlyn Enya-Dike, said the plaintiffs had failed to convince the court in all the prayers they sought, and struck out the case.
She said Jonathan was yet to obtain or declare formally his intention to contest, adding that the suit was “at best hypothetical, preemptive, speculative and mere conjunctures”.
Enya-Dike also said that Section 308 of the Constitution insulated the President from civil and criminal actions until he vacates office, adding that the plaintiffs also lacked locus-standi to institute the case.
“The plaintiffs had failed to show that they would suffer any special damage more than any member of the public if the president contests in 2015,” she said.
