2015: Crisis hits Kaduna PDP

Fresh crisis is brewing in the Kaduna State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the Elders’ Forum from the southern zone of the state, yesterday said there will be no automatic ticket for all serving elected officials in the state.Coming short of dismissing the endorsement of some political office holders as a charade, the group said: “We are completely studying the endorsement that was done by our elected people. We will go back to our villages to seek their opinion, even though we already know; but we will go back and confirm because we respect them and hold their trust.”

Top Nigerian female singer, Tiwa Savage has hinted that she is expecting a baby nearly a year after she held her traditional wedding in Lagos and barely six months after her white wedding in Dubai.

Tiwa, who married her manager, Tunji ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun, announced that, “The spirit of a mother, #Mrsteebillz #marriedandtaken.”

Before now, there have been rumours of the singer being pregnant, which she never confirmed. At a point, she joked that her supposedly protruding stomach was as a result of the food she eat before attending the event where pictures emerged that she may have been pregnant.

In recent time, the singer has been in the news for the wrong reasons, especially due to her daring outfits to shows and as well as her outfit in ‘Wanted’ music video.

Over the weekend, sultry movie star, Ebube Nwagbo was announced as the Most Fashionable Actress of the year at the 2014 edition of Lagos Fashion Awards.

The occasion, which was attended by some important dignitaries, was held at the Bespoke Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos.

Ebola virus: Jonathan directs Ministry of Aviation to recruit protocol officers

The Minster of Aviation, Mr Osita Chidoka, said President Goodluck Jonathan had directed the ministry to recruit protocol officers to man entry and exit points at the airports.Chidoka made this known when the Deputy Information Officer, U.S Embassy, Maria Brewer, visited him in Abuja on Thursday to discuss ways to curtail the spread of Ebola virus.According to him, Jonathan has given a waiver to the ministry to recruit more protocol staff to screen passengers.

He said the Ministry of Finance had given approval for the release of fund for exercise.The minister said Ebola virus had become a challenge to Africa and especially in Nigeria where the citizenry had to suffer from the outbreak of the virus.He said that the response of the Federal Government had been swift and far reaching to alley the fear of those who had primary and secondary contact.He said Jonathan had given the ministry full support to curtail the spread of the virus at the various airports in the country.

Chidoka explained that there had been screening for those going out and those coming into the country.He said the ministry was monitoring movement in and out of the country, adding that protocols had been developed at the various airports to curtail the virus.The minister said that ambulances had been dedicated for the purpose of those who might have contracted the virus to convene them to the hospital.

The U.S Embassy Deputy Information Officer, commended the Nigeria government’s response to the virus, adding that the response had been swift and comprehensive.She said the U.S would be willing to lend a helping hand and see the possible areas of collaboration to forestall the spread of the virus at the various airports in the country.
