Tips to Spies Up Your Love Life

Are you starting to feel boredom setting into your love relationship? Have you ever wondered how to improve your love life?
After months or years into a relationship, it’s easy to let romance slide off the meter and allow complacency and routine to set the pace of a committed relationship. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
There are romantic ideas you can apply to bring greater intimacy and passion back into your love life.
With these love tips, you’ll be perking up your love life soon!
1
Engage in regular conversations. Every brand new day brings with it a set of happenings that can alter one’s state of emotions and thoughts. Engaging in regular conversations is what keeps you connected to your partner. Even a simple question like “How’s your day?” will convey your interest and concern. Be prepared to listen to what they has to share. Pay attention and be genuinely interested in their answer.
2
Ask for permission before bringing up important issues. If there’s an important issue you want to raise up, select an appropriate timing for the discussion. Don’t expect your love mate to be ready to listen right away. Try asking for their permission to speak with them. For example, “Honey, there’s something I would really like to tell you and I want to feel listened to. Do you want to talk now or later?” Giving them a choice will make them feel respected instead of being resentful.
3
Compliment generously. People like to feel appreciated, especially by their loved ones. There’s many chances throughout the day for you to do so. Say thank you when your love makes you a cup of coffee. Compliment them when they do something nice for you. Tell them how you appreciate them for making your life easier. Be sincere.
4
Date each other. Yes, continue to date even when you’ve been together for years. Make an effort to ask your girlfriend out on a regular basis. It’ll make her feel attractive and keep you attracted to her. People are leading such busy lives these days and it’s easy to cut down on dating. Avoid that if you want love to flourish. Mark the date down as an important appointment in your planner.
5
Play together. Couples who have fun together, laugh together, and play together tend to ride out the rough waves of their relationship together. When you truly feel comfortable and accepted by your partner, you’ll feel safe enough to reveal your silly side to them. Even simple acts like sharing an ice-cream together can enhance intimacy.
6
Celebrate love. Relationship can survive many a thing but neglect is what normally slowly kills off the relationship. There are many ways you can celebrate love. Try writing your partner a love poem, letter or message. Such love items are likely to be cherished by them and retained as keepsakes.
7
Keep romance alive. Every once in a while, do something unexpected like giving them a single stalk of flower for no reason. Lean in close when talking to them. Flirt with them like you used to. Wear the perfume you know he loves on you. Hold her gently in your arms. Sneak in a kiss when they least expect it. Have fun and be creative.

Iraq :violence escalats Global oil prices

Concern that the Baghdad-controlled Iraqi army was disintegrating

and could no longer secure key oil facilities was exacerbated when

soldiers fled the northern oil city of Kirkuk

Brent crude oil climbed towards $112 a barrel on Thursday on worries that escalating violence in Iraq could disrupt oil supplies from the major OPEC exporter.
The Brent futures contract – an international benchmark sensitive to geopolitical turmoil – rose $1.90 to $111.85 a barrel by 1320 GMT, paring earlier gains that saw it rise more than $2 to its highest since early March.
U.S. oil gained $1.66 to $106.06 a barrel, also shedding earlier gains that saw it hit a year high.
An initially muted market response to news that Sunni rebels had overrun Iraq’s second-largest city and moved in on its largest refinery at Baiji has given way to growing alarm as the al Qaeda splinter group appeared to make rapid advances toward the Shi’ite-led government in Baghdad.
“I would entirely ascribe this move to the insurrection in the north of Iraq … The fear is that it will cause a threat to Iraqi oil exports,” Christopher Bellew, a trader at Jefferies Bache, said.
“If this conflict knocked out Iraq as an exporter, that would have significant impact on prices.“
Concern that the Baghdad-controlled Iraqi army was disintegrating and could no longer secure key oil facilities was exacerbated when soldiers fled the northern oil city of Kirkuk, leaving it in the hands of Kurdish forces.

However, the bulk of Iraq’s oil production and export facilities are in largely Shi’ite areas in the south of the country, where al Qaeda-inspired groups enjoy little sympathy.
Those facilities, which ship about 2.6 million barrels per day (bpd), were “very, very safe”, the country’s Oil Minister Abdul Kareem Luaibi said on Wednesday.
His comments came after Sunni insurgents overran Tikrit, threatening the Baiji refinery, which can process 300,000 bpd and supplies Baghdad.
Iraq’s biggest oil refinery at Baiji remained under government control on Thursday, Luaibi said, while the northern oil export pipeline from Kirkuk was already disrupted due to insurgent attacks before the latest escalation in violence.
“There are no immediate oil export implications in as much as the latest news is about Kirkuk … and that has a limited impact because the northern pipeline has been down for months already,” said Gareth Lewis-Davies, a strategist at BNP Paribas.
“This is more about uncertainty as it calls into question the ability of the central Baghdad government to keep control … The big fear is if they get south of Baghdad … but there is no immediate indication that this will happen.”
Despite Thursday’s volatility, OPEC, which supplies a third of the world’s oil, said oil markets would be balanced in the second half of the year with extra production sufficient to meet growing demand.
“A $2 move is nothing in historical terms but we have seen very low oil price volatility in recent months and that makes this move more significant,” Lewis-Davies said.
“But a lot would have to happen before we saw a serious disruption to exports so that is not an immediate risk.”
U.S. OIL STOCKS
Oil prices also drew support from last week’s 2.6-million-bpd drop in crude inventories, Ric Spooner, chief market analyst at Sydney’s CMC Markets, said. Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast a 1.9-million-barrel decline.
U.S. crude is expected to hold around $105 per barrel, Spooner forecast. The keenly traded spread of Brent over WTI was below $6 at 1115 GMT, with U.S. crude also facing upward pressure.
Investors were also watching for the release of key economic data from the United States later on Thursday and figures from China on Friday for industrial production and retail sales.

Scores of Palestinian journalists staged a rally outside cabinet headquarters in Gaza to protest a recent Israeli decision to ban the printing and distribution of Gaza-based newspapers in the occupied West Bank.
Journalists also protested a crackdown by Palestinian authorities in the West Bank on Gazan newspaper distributors.
“Is this how those who expose the crimes of the [Israeli] occupation should be rewarded?” read one of the banners carried by journalists taking part in the protest, which was organized by the Palestinian Journalists’ Guild.
Three Gaza-based newspapers have traditionally been distributed in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.
Late last month, Israeli authorities forbade the printing and distribution of Gaza-based newspapers in the West Bank, saying that they “incited” against Israel.
The new Israeli measures specifically targeted the Palestine, Al-Resalah and Al-Estqlal newspapers.
“We call on the Interior Ministry in the West Bank to allow for more freedoms,” Yunis Abu Grad, deputy head of the Palestinian Journalists’ Guild, said at a conference convened on the sidelinesof the protest.

DR Congo :battle over kidnapped soldier in Rwanda continues

Rwandan forces and troops from the Democratic Republic of Congo are fighting each other on the border, the Congolese information minister says.
Lambert Mende told the BBC the battle began when a unit of Rwanda soldiers crossed over the border and attacked in early on Wednesday.
After fighting for nearly two hours, the Rwandans kidnapped an army corporal and went home, he said.
Clashes resumed when the Congolese learnt the officer had been killed.
The Rwandan authorities have yet to comment on the violence.
The neighbours have had a fractious relationship since the 1994 genocide when those accused of involvement in the killings of an estimated 800,000 ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus set up a militia in eastern DR Congo.
Mende said the fighting was in Buhumba in North Kivu province.
The Rwandan soldiers came over the border at about 04:30 local time (03:30 GMT), he told the BBC’s Focus on Africa programme.
He said the fighting broke out again in the afternoon when Congolese soldiers heard the news about their captured colleague.
“There is now fighting. There are also talks – we need really to know what is happening with them,” Mende said.

Determined to resolve the lingering crisis in Lagos State University (LASU), Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN) yesterday approved a 60 per cent reduction in the school fees.
Addressing a press conference in Lagos, his Special Adviser on Education, Otunba Fatai Olukoga, said the state Executive Council has ordered the university’s Governing Council to implement 34- 60 per cent cut in the school fees immediately.
Flanked by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Aderemi Ibirogba, the Special Adviser to the governor on Information and Strategy, Mr. Lateef Raji and his Media counterpart, Mr. Hakeem Bello, Olukoga said the governor reduced the fees after extensive deliberation on the report of the ad-hoc committee.
His words: “The ad-hoc committee has recommended and government has accepted that the fees and charges payable by students for incidental services and materials are amendable to a downward review for two main reasons: •Some of the fees component have been applied to students across all levels when in fact, they can be justifiably limited to students at a particular level only; and •Some of the charges included can still be reduced on compassionate grounds.
“On the basis of these principles, government agrees that with the subsidized tuition fees and appropriate moderation of the incidental fees, a reduction ranging from 34 per cent to 60 per cent is possible across the different faculties and courses.
“Government has therefore, approved the reduction and, in accordance with the law setting up the university, forwarded its approval to the Governing Council for consideration and implementation.
“Pursuant to its mandate, the Governing Council will issue details of what is now payable by students in each department and deal with all other management matters of the university. All individuals and groups within the community are advised to relate to the university’s council accordingly,” Olukoga said.
He noted that notwithstanding the approval of reduced fees for the students, government will retain and continue with its enhanced scholarship and bursary provisions.
He said the research fund sponsored by the government will also be maintained to enhance a culture of research and innovation in the institution.
“Moreover, government will continue its increased spending on infrastructure and physical development of the campus, which has already begun to enhance the stature of the Lagos State University as a leading institution of higher learning in Nigeria,” the Special Adviser said.
Olukoga, who assured that LASU students who had been charged to court for disturbing public peace, will be given favourable consideration, said the government is optimistic that the students and workers of the university will immediately resume and assist the government in moving the state forward.

FG, labour in logahead over high electricity tariff

For more news and entertainments visit our  website www.loverytmedia.com

NLC President, Abdulwaheed Omar

Officials of the Federal Government and the organised labour on Tuesday in Abuja engaged in a heated argument over the recent increase in electricity tariff.
The Federal Government had last month announced a review in the tariff with marginal increase in the energy charge effective June 1, 2014.
The development was, however, condemned by various labour unions.
The condemnation by labour unions took a different dimension on Tuesday as officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress vehemently opposed the tariff increase at a meeting organised by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission to explain the reasons for the tariff review.
The President, NLC, Mr. Abdulwaheed Umar, said it was worrisome that the commission had already increased the tariff before consulting the civil society.
“I am a living witness to what I will describe as an astronomical increase in tariff. Meanwhile, what worries us is that most times, the consultations for tariff review come after the did had been done. This ought not to be,” he said.
Umar argued that before any increase in tariff, there ought to be visible improvement in power supply by the electricity distribution companies.http://www.loverytmedia.com/
“We can’t live in darkness and continue to pay electricity bills, not to talk of when the tariff has increased. As for the fixed charges, I see it as exploitation, because whether I get power or not, I must pay it,” the NLC president lamented.
Umar said the payment of the N750 fixed charge to the electricity distribution companies should be calculated based on the amount of power consumed by a customer.
“This will serve as a disincentive to the power investors and will make them sit up,” he said.
The atmosphere at the meeting became charged when the Deputy President of the NLC and Secretary General, Nigerian Union of Electricity Employees, Mr. Joe Ajaero, responded to remarks made by the Vice Chairman, NERC, Mr. Lawal Bello.
Bello, while defending the privatisation of the power sector, had stated that the “noise making” by some stakeholders in the sector against the exercise was unnecessary.
He argued that the government should be supported instead of being criticised over the privatisation exercise regardless of the poor performance of the sector at present.
According to him, Nigerians are known for not managing government-owned companies well, a development that led to the privatisation of many public institutions in the country.
But in a swift response, Ajaero described the vice chairman’s statements as stunning.

baby deaths at church home in Ireland to be investigated

Ireland to investigate baby deaths at church homes

Inquiry follows discovery of large baby grave, and it would deal with high mortality rates, burial practices, adoption procedures and testing of medicine on children at the homes, and would seek church records.

The Irish government has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the treatment of children at Catholic church homes for unmarried mothers, including accusations of forced adoptions and unusually high mortality rates among children housed there.
Dublin has come under increasing pressure to examine practices at the institutions used to house children born out of wedlock between the 1920s and 1960s following the discovery of an unmarked grave with the remains of hundreds of babies near Galway.
“It is not an exaggeration to say the treatment of the women and their babies was an abomination,” Prime Minister Enda Kenny, a practicing Catholic, told parliament. “If this issue isn’t handled properly, then Ireland’s soul in many ways will lie like the babies of so many of these mothers in an unmarked grave.”
The Oscar-nominated film Philomena, which dealt with forced adoption of a child from a mother at one of the homes, also helped bring the issue to international attention.
The Roman Catholic Church dominated Ireland until the 1980s when a series of sex abuse scandals began to undermine its authority, but it still runs many schools and hospitals.
Minister for Children Charlie Flanagan told journalists the government had decided to establish a commission of investigation with full statutory powers to investigate “mother-and-baby homes” throughout the country.
Terms of the inquiry have not yet been established, but he said he hoped it would deal with high mortality rates, burial practices, adoption procedures and testing of medicine on children at the homes, and would seek church records.
“I am delighted that (the church) have indicated their willingness to cooperate with the process…so we can establish once and for all the facts of what went on during what was a very dark period of Irish history,” he told state broadcaster RTE.
Government records show that throughout the 1930s, 40s and 50s, the mortality rate for children born out of wedlock in Ireland was often more than five times that of children born to married parents.
Until the 1980s, many unwed Irish mothers were compelled to give up their babies to secret adoptions.
Support groups for the survivors of the homes welcomed the news. “Certainly on the face of it, it is looking good,” said Susan Lohan, director of the Adoption Rights Alliance, which has been calling for a similar inquiry for decades.
“The timeliness and the scope are the most important things here. We mustn’t allow it to be dragged out.”

Online Poll-Super Eagles won’t go beyond second round

Stephen Keshi
The Stephen Keshi-led Super Eagles team, which has been placed in Group F along with Argentina, Iran and Bosnia & Herzegovina in the 2014 World Cup, may not go beyond the second round.
This is the view of the majority of respondents that took part in PUNCH ONLINE EXTRA’s recent poll, with the question, ‘With the quality of players in the Super Eagles World Cup list, how far do you think the team will go?’
Respondents were presented with three choices – Second round, Quarter-finals and Semi-finals.
Considering the other teams in the group, particularly Iran and Bosnia & Herzegovina, it is easy to believe that Nigeria has a strong chance of proceeding beyond the first round of the competition.
But the outcome of the friendly warm-up matches, especially that against the US, on Saturday, which Nigeria lost 1-2, seems to have raised some concerns.
Five hundred and fifteen respondents took part in the poll.
keshi
The poll shows that 237 respondents, representing 46 per cent, believe Nigeria won’t go past the second round.
On the other hand, 124 respondents, which represent 24 per cent, have great faith in Keshi’s 23-man squad to get to the quarterfinals stage.
Conversely, 154 respondents, representing 30 per cent, are optimistic that the Super Eagles will get to the semifinals of the global sporting event.
A former international, Edema Fuludu, recently said, “From the friendlies I have seen, I do realise that it has been difficult for us to win a non-African side up till now.
“So, if we are going into the tournament we’ve not won any, I think that it is very imperative we win against Iran.”
Another former Super Eagles skipper, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, expressing his thoughts on Nigeria’s performances in the warm-up games, said more needed to be done to fortify the team’s midfield, hinting that a playmaker in his mould, was still sorely missed in the team.
Understandably, Nigeria’s Super Eagles keeper, Vincent Enyeama, along with his colleagues, believes the team will go far in the tournament.
Meanwhile, Senate President, David Mark, has been appointed by President Goodluck Jonathanto lead a high-powered Federal Government delegation to Brazil for the World Cup.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki Tuesday declared highest alert in the country and called for emergency session for the parliament to declare state of emergency to confront the terrorist groups.
“The Council of Ministers declares the highest alert and mobilize all the potentials to confront the current challenges,” Maliki said in the statement broadcast by the state-run Iraqiya channel.
He said that the serious situations in the country entails the Council of Ministers and the Presidency to ask the parliament to ” declare the state of emergency and general mobilization.”
Maliki also called on the international organizations, including the United Nations, Arab league and European Union and others to support Iraq and its stance in fighting terrorism. In addition, he called on the neighboring countries to control their borders and to prevent infiltration of terrorists into Iraq.
Moreover, Maliki called on Iraqis to join the security forces to participate in defending their country.
Earlier in the day, insurgent groups took full control of Iraq’ s second largest city of Mosul, the capital of Nineveh province, and expanded to other areas after the Iraqi security forces withdrew from the city.
Atheel al-Nujaifi, the provincial governor told al-Arabiyah satellite channel that “the gunmen took control of the left and right sides of Mosul except for small pockets.” The left and right sides of the city refer to east and west banks of the Tigris River which bisects the city of Mosul, some 400 km north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
Nujaifi said that the top army officers who came recently from Baghdad to supervise the battles suddenly withdrew with their troops from the left side which was under control of the security forces.
Since Friday morning, bloody clashes broke out between the Iraqi security forces and hundreds ofgunmen who took control of several neighborhoods in western part of Mosul.
Nineveh is a Sunni-majority province and its capital Mosul has long been a stronghold for insurgent groups, including al-Qaida militants, since the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

The National Conference sitting in Abuja has expressed shock and sadness over the death of Prof. Dora Akunyili on Saturday, saying the deceased was a fine public servant who did her best for the nation.
This is contained in a statement by Mr james Akpandem, the Assistant Secretary, Media and Communications, made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday.
http://www.loverytmedia.com/ongoing-national-confab-expresses-shock-sadness-at-akunyilis-death/
Communications, died in an Indian hospital in the early hours of Saturday after a battle with cancer.
Akpandem said that “the Chairman of the conference, Retired Justice Idris Kutigi, was shocked at the demise of one of Nigeria’s finest administrators.’’
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Akunyili was until her death, a delegate representing Anambra at the conference.
The assistant secretary stated that “the National Conference sitting in Abuja, on Saturday, June 7, 2014, received yet another sad news of the demise of a delegate, Prof. Dora Akunyili.
“Akunyili’s death brings to three the number of such incidents recorded in the life of the conference, inaugurated on March 17, 2014.’’
He added that “Akunyili’s death was preceded by that of AIG Hamma Misau, a delegate representing retired police officers from Bauchi State on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
“The second was Dr Mohammed Jumare, a delegate representing elder statesmen from Kaduna State, who died on Monday, May 5, 2014.
“The chairman of the conference and former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Idris Kutigi, expressed sadness at the demise of one of Nigeria’s finest administrators.’’
Akpandem noted that “on behalf of the principal officers and delegates to the conference, Kutigi expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased.’’
He stated that Akunyili’s last official assignment was on March 24 at the conference, where her eloquent contributions to the debate on President Goodluck Jonathan’s speech to the conference elicited thunderous applause from delegates.
NAN recalled that even when the Deputy Chairman of the conference, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, urged her to contribute while seated, Akunyili insisted on standing like every other delegate who had contributed before her.
She was a pharmacist and an astute administrator who gained international recognition and won hundreds of awards for her work in pharmacology, public health and human rights.
She eventually ventured into partisan politics and contested for Anambra Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2011, but lost to Sen. Chris Ngige of the rested ACN.

Late Icon :Akunyili won over 400 local, international laurels -Ozekhome

A legal practitioner and member of the Committee on Law, Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Reforms in the ongoing National Conference, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), on Monday in Abuja paid glowing tributes to a fellow delegate and former Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili.
He said the late Akunyili won for herself over 400 laurels in the course of serving humanity both in Nigeria and in the internationally community.
Ozekhome, in his tribute to the former Director-General of National Agency for Foods and Drugs Administration and Control at the plenary, also stated that Akunyili could cry easily over any form of injustice or oppression of a lesser person.
According to him, as Director-General of NAFDAC, she gave fake and adulterated drug peddlers a bloody nose, adding that even as Minister of Information, she rebranded Nigeria.
He said, “Inspite of her illness, pains, agony, pangs and near blood, she literally defied nature and looked death in the face. She possessed passion and patriotism, she wore the face of the Nigerian of African women better remembered for her famous words that a cabal was holding Yar’Adua to ransom, refusing to let us know the true state of his health.
“Even when the Conference Chairman told her she could sit to contribute to discuss the President’s inaugural speech at plenary, she opted to stand, using her last breadth, her last strength, her last soul, to fight for Nigeria.”
Meanwhile, it was a mournful mood on Monday at the plenary of the confab as delegates paid tributes to both Akunyili and the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
Bayero, who lived between 1930 and 2014, died on Friday, while  Akunyili, a delegate to the ongoing National Conference died at age of 59 on Saturday.

Sports lovers :Danagogo Pledges Support For Other Sports In Nigeria

The Sports Minister and Chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Tammy Danagogo says there will be a re-consideration on the exclusion of some sports from the National Sports Festival.
Danagogo explained that the major reason for the move is to ensure that all sports registered under the NSC are given opportunity to develop, adding that he does not believe that some sports should be classified as lesser sports.
The sports minister, who was present at the 1st National U-15 Cricket Championship that took place at the cricket pitch of the Package B of the Abuja National Stadium, emphasized the need to make the country competitive in different sports and not just football.
He assured the President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation that the bat and ball sport will be reconsidered as one of the sports for the National Sports Festival, adding that National Council on Sports may be reconvened to discuss the issue. “I do not believe that any sport should be excluded from the sports festival. I believe the festival should be used to develop all sports. Cricket is one of the serious federations that don’t run to me for funds.
If cricket can rank 34th in the world without support from government, if government and the private sector come in to support them, then they will do better than they are doing now,” he said, stressing “government should do everything possible to garner laurels from all sports.”
While reaffirming that he will implement the Federal Government’s road map to developing sports in the country, Dr. Danagogo said ” the era of discrimination of some sports will be over with me on the saddle as sports minister. Since the National Council on Sports is the policy making body where decisions are taken on matters of the sports festival, I will see if it’s meeting can be reconvened to re-evaluate the decision to exclude some sports.”
