It's an abuse of human right to Sell Warplanes to Nigeria:new york times

Buhari-Obama-Vanguard-3

The Editorial Board of New York Times, has asked President Barrack Obama of the United States of America, not to sell warplanes to Nigeria, citing human rights abuse by the Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
Fourteen months after the election of President Muhammadu Buhari in Nigeria, the Obama administration is considering selling his government 12 warplanes.

It is a thorny decision because Mr. Buhari is an improvement over his disastrous predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, and is fighting Boko Haram, the Islamist extremists who have terrorized the region. But he has not done enough to end corruption and respond to charges that the army has committed war crimes in its fight against the group. Selling him the planes now would be a mistake. Under Mr. Buhari, Nigeria has cooperated more with Chad and Niger to fight Boko Haram. The group, which emerged in the early 2000s, has seized land in the northeastern, predominantly Muslim section of Nigeria. Thousands of people have been killed and 2.2 million displaced. The group’s depravity captured world attention in 2014 when it kidnapped 276 girls from a secondary school. Buhari-Obama-Vanguard-3While violence is down and some territory has been recaptured, the group continues to attack remote villages and refugee camps, and it is using women and children as suicide bombers. American military officials say that Boko Haram has begun collaborating with the Islamic State and that the groups could be planning attacks on American allies in Africa.

Yet Nigeria’s government cannot be entrusted with the versatile new warplanes, which can be used for ground attacks as well as reconnaissance. Its security services have long engaged in extrajudicial killings, torture and rape, according to the State Department’s latest annual human rights report. Amnesty International says that during the army’s scorched-earth response to Boko Haram between 2011 and 2015, more than 8,200 civilians were murdered, starved or tortured to death. The Obama administration was so concerned about this record that two years ago it blocked Israel’s sale of American-made Cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria and ended American training of Nigerian troops. American officials even hesitated to share intelligence with the military, fearing it had been infiltrated by Boko Haram.

That wariness has eased and American officials say they are now working with some Nigerian counterparts. Since winning election on a reform platform, Mr. Buhari has moved to root out graft and to investigate human rights abuses by the military. But the State Department said Nigerian “authorities did not investigate or punish the majority of cases of police or military abuse” in 2015. That hardly seems like an endorsement for selling the aircraft. Tim Rieser, a top aide to Senator Patrick Leahy, who wrote the law barring American aid to foreign military units accused of abuses, told The Times that “we don’t have confidence in the Nigerians’ ability to use them in a manner that complies with the laws of war and doesn’t end up disproportionately harming civilians, nor in the capability of the U.S. government to monitor their use.” To defeat Boko Haram, which preys on citizens’ anger at the government, Mr. Buhari will need more than weapons. He has to get serious about improving governance and providing jobs, roads and services in every region of Nigeria. Until then or until Congress develops ways to monitor the planes’ use, it should block the sale.

Police warns Biafrans against anniversary outing

The Anambra State Police command yesterday said neither the Movement for the Actualisation of the sovereign state of Biafra (MASSOB) nor the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has informed it officially of its intention to celebrate May 30th Biafra anniversary.
The Police spokesman, Ali Oke¬chukwu said on the other hand said the hierarchy of the police has not as well sent across any signal to that effect but denied that crack-down is already on for MASSOB/IPOB members in Anambra State.
He said no directive has been given by the Commissioner of Police, Karma Hosea even though he would still dig out to know the true position.

REPS FIGHTS TO STRENGTHEN NIGERIA’S DMO AGAINST BUDGET DEFICIT FINANCING

JUST IN!!! REPS FIGHTS TO STRENGTHEN NIGERIA’S DMO AGAINST BUDGET DEFICIT FINANCING

Against the background of sterner monitoring regime of implementa¬tion of all government projects financed with borrowed funds, adopted by the current admin-istration, the House of Repre¬sentatives has advocated the strengthening of the nation’s Debt Management Office (DMO) by giving it more statutory powers.
The lower parliament has ar¬gued that since it was the duty of the DMO to raise funds to finance budget deficit, “the body should also be saddled with the respon¬sibility of monitoring implemen¬tation”, noting that this would en¬sure compliance, transparency and accountability.
The Reps’ Committee on Aids, Loans and Debt Manage¬ment pushed this position at a three-day retreat for members of the committee in Owerri, the Imo State capital, over the weekend.

MAN BEHIND M. BUHARI'S CHANGE IN NIGERIA, SHOCKING DETAILS REVEALED.

SHOCKER!!! THE POWERFUL MAN BEHIND MUHAMMADU BUHARI CHANGE IN NIGERIA, SHOCKING DETAILS REVEALED.

The elected president of Nigeria is Muhammadu Buhari but there is a power behind the throne that many Nigerians are not even aware of. This person is so powerful and influential that he is said to have the closest ear of the president, more than ANYONE else. His name is Mamman Daura.
The two men are related by blood: President Buhari is Mamman Daura’s uncle although Daura is two and half years older than the president.
The nephew-uncle relationship is described as extremely close and date back to childhood years. Now that Buhari is in power as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the relationship is said to have even taken another dimension entirely with Daura wielding near-absolute power and authority.
When Buhari overthrew Shagari in 1983, Daura was one of the few people Buhari trusted enough to give principal advisory roles. By the late 1980s, he had succeeded Ibrahim Dasuki as the head of the African International Bank.

DONALD TRUMP BLAST BUHARI PERSONALLY – YOU SAY BIAFRA IS A JOKE, COMPARE YOUR CHANGE WITH PREVIOUS CORRUPTION

Donald trump who blasted Nigeria previously by asking the question ‘WHERE IS THE CHANGE” got a negative response . well trust the US presidential candidate for being blunt , came personally for Buhari. – No sensible president continuously travels round the
globe while his country is in terrible hardship and economic mess.
It can only happen in Nigeria where all that matters to the President is the full introduction of Islam, annihilation of his political opponents and absolute extermination of the people of the old Eastern Nigeria.
Buhari, prior to his questionable victory at the polls as the President of Nigeria made lots of promises which he has obviously failed to keep and in most cases denied.

KFC Is Officially Entering the Cosmetics Game

KFC is taking its "finger-lickin' good" slogan to the next level: According to AdWeek, the company is launching two limited edition flavored nail polishes to help promote its food in Hong Kong.

Combining forces with McCormick, the company that makes KFC's secret spice mix, KFC has devised two shades of polish inspired by its two most popular recipes: Original and Hot & Spicy. In a statement shared by Racked, the company went into more detail about how the idea came to life.
In line with its spirit of innovation, KFC Hong Kong unveils their new 'Finger Lickin' Good Edible
Nail Polish' range, keeping the brand literally at their customers' fingertips while savoring their
delicious signature chicken. This limited edition edible nail polish was created as a tribute to the world famous "It's Finger Lickin' Good" slogan.KFC's signature flavors—Original Recipe and Hot & Spicy—have been carefully formulated from natural ingredients into edible nail polish and packaged in a stylish glass bottle and minimal box with over gloss details to appeal to young consumers' love of food and fashion. Simply apply and dry like regular nail polish and then lick—again and again and again to taste why the world's favorite chicken is Finger Lickin' Good.
The Original color is a light nude, and the Hot & Spicy is a bright orange-red. Both appear to have flecks of glitter, perhaps meant to be reminiscent of shiny, freshly fried chicken.

"The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavor, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish," Ogilvy & Mather creative director John Koay, one of the brains behind the idea, told AdWeek. "This campaign is designed to be intriguing and fun to increase excitement around the KFC brand in Hong Kong."
Before releasing the product for mass production, however, customers in Hong Kong will get to vote on their favorite. For now, it seems like it will be a local promotion—but it might just be worldwide soon.
Check out the video below for a better look at the polish itself.

Stop Trying to Choke Me: The Rise of Rough Sex Culture

naked couple

I was dating this guy Adam for a few weeks when in bed one night, totally unprompted, he put his hands around my neck and squeezed. It was not my jam. Turns out, I love being able to breathe!
"I don't like that," I said.
"Oh, sorry." He immediately took his hands off my neck.
I wasn't mad, I let it go, no big deal. We went back to our spicy make-out when Adam suddenly grabbed a handful of my hair and yanked it. My head jerked back.
"Owww! Too hard!"
"Oops, my bad."
"Just be more gentle, please."
For the rest of the hookup I felt like I was playing defense, anxiously awaiting the next move I'd have to block. Fortunately, he backed off.
That night, I started to worry. I was falling hard for Adam, and I really wanted it to work. He was was like a dream guy; smart, loving, happy, fun. Not to mention a stone cold fox. But there were red flags. From our very first date, Adam told me point-blank that he liked to dominate in bed, which sounded sexy. But as our relationship progressed, he became more and more forceful.
When I shared my concern that I was dating someone who was maybe too rough for me, many of my friends had their own stories. My friend Kayla*, 32, told me about a guy she dated who fully slapped her across the face the first time they had sex—without even asking.
I asked Kayla how it made her feel. "It took me a minute to realize it was not okay," she said, and explained that she was drunk at the time so she went along with it. "Five tequilas in at 3 A.M., it feels edgy and fun. But guess what? That becomes stored trauma in your body and now I have to deal with it." The experience was so upsetting that she stopped drinking altogether.
But Kayla's story was a Disney movie compared to the experiences my friend Jessica*, 31, was having. Jessica told me about a guy she was newly sleeping with who "covered my mouth and nose like he was trying to suffocate me" during sex. When she asked what he was doing, he responded, "I just wanted to see how you'd react." Needless to say, she never saw him again.
Jessica also noticed more and more men trying to do butt stuff without asking. "I've had numerous guys try to aggressively shove fingers up my butt without any lube or any warning," she said. Which, as anyone with a butthole knows, is exceptionally painful.
So what the heck is happening? Has mainstream sex has become more aggressive toward women? And if so, why?
The most obvious explanation for cultural shifts in sex would seem to be the explosion of Internet porn. Porn is now more widely available and accessible than at anytime in history. Xvideos, the largest online porn site, gets 4.4 billion views per month according to Google's DoubleClick Ad Planner. While teenagers in our parents' generation were lucky if they saw a nip slip or a giant bush in a copy of Playboy, kids now carry a 24-hour free porn library in their phones. And what exactly are they watching?
A study conducted at the University of Arkansas in 2010 analyzed 50 best-selling porn videos in the U.S. and found that 88 percent of the scenes contained physical aggression, mostly spanking, gagging, and slapping. And 48 percent contained verbal aggression, primarily name-calling. The targets of this abuse were overwhelmingly female (87 percent). Surprise to no one! That means the most popular videos to jerk off to are ones in which women are being subjugated and abused, both physically and verbally.
Interestingly, though perhaps not surprisingly, the women in the actual porn don't react negatively to this kind of treatment. Ninety-five percent of the women examined in the University of Arkansas study acted aroused by it or were neutral, and only 5 percent reacted negatively. Of course men are gonna think it's okay to gag a woman with their dick when Vanessica from YouPorn is doing it with a smile. So not only does porn suggest that men should be sexually rough, it also conditions women to think that it's okay. "He hit me and it felt like a kiss" isn't just a creepy Phil Spector song from the 1960s, it's also the new normal in 2016.
In its 2015 Year in Review, Pornhub reported that the search term "hard rough fuck" went up by 454 percent, and in the United States, "extreme gangbang" is among the top five searches gaining the most traction. Clearly, violent sex is having a moment. I remember once watching a gangbang video because I thought it might be hot to see a woman get worshipped by a bunch of dudes. Boy, was I punked. It basically just looked like a woman was being raped by group of scary dudes who wouldn't let her go.

With so many Americans regularly watching porn (there are no reliable statistics, but the one most cited online is 40 million) there is bound to be some kind of influence on sexual behavior. A meta-analysis of 22 studies on porn found that "the accumulated data leave little doubt that, on the average, individuals who consume pornography more frequently are more likely to hold attitudes conducive to sexual aggression and engage in actual acts of sexual aggression than individuals who do not consume pornography or who consume pornography less frequently." Duh, right? Another study at Yale showed that exposure to porn makes men "animalify" women, increasing the likelihood that they will treat women as though they lack the capacity for complex thinking and reasoning.
Porn isn't inherently bad. There's nothing wrong with wanting to watch sex on-screen. But I just want the content to be more pro-woman—something like what you see on Cindy Gallop's website, Make Love Not Porn, where you can rent and watch videos of couples having more sensual "real world sex." When I asked Gallop why so many men are copying the bad kind of porn moves in bed, she said, "Rough sex and porn-associated behavior often takes place because nobody has ever had a conversation about how to be good in bed. The issue isn't porn; the issue is that we don't talk about sex in the real world."
This is why Gallop started her website in the first place: to create a broader spectrum of what sex can look like and how we talk about it. "The day we have a porn industry that is 50-50 equally informed, influenced, led, designed, and driven by women is the day we have a porn industry that looks completely different. It would be more creative, more innovative, more disruptive, and a better, healthier industry overall," she says. Amen, sister.
As far as what happened with Adam, I wanted to talk to him about our sex life, but we broke up before I had the chance. I told him that I was worried we were moving too fast, and he said we'd be fine. So I put down my armor and let myself be vulnerable. And that was the exact moment he decided he wasn't ready for a relationship. Our first conversation about being exclusive ended up being the last time we spoke. Turned out, Adam was ready to tie me up and choke me, but he wasn't ready to be intimate.
