10 Things Men Notice First About Women

Have you ever wondered why it seems easy for some ladies to capture the attention of men more then others? Many times as ladies, we think its just our looks that gives a good first impression on the opposite sex. Wrong!
Ladies, its time to educate ourselves a bit. Here are 10 things a guy notices first when he sees a lady:
1. Your Smile: A lady’s smile is often the very first part of a woman a guy will see. A lady with a scowl on her face is not often attractive to most men while a smiling woman is considered to be much more approachable. Your smile is one of the most expressive feature you possess.
2. Your Hair: You’d be surprised how much men pay attention to this. And surprisingly, most women get it wrong about the kind of hair that men are attracted to. I know a man who tells me a woman who plaits her hair or has it in braids is the only kind of woman he gets attracted to. For others, it might be different.
3. Your Eyes: A woman’s eyes tell a lot about her. Any confident guy would want to hold your gaze for a while. A lot of information can be shared through eye contact. Remember, ‘eyes are the window to the soul‘.
4. Your Body Language: Do you walk tall and confident? Are you slouched? Do you have an upright posture? Yes, guys do notice all these and it tells them whether to approach you or not.

Why FG must complete 2nd Niger Bridge, Ndigbo, others tell Buhari

AMidst growing fears that the Federal Government has dumped the construction of the Second Niger Bridge project, prominent Igbo   leaders and built environment experts have appealed to President Muhammed Buhari, PMB to ensure that the all-important bridge that would complement the aging River Niger Bridge, is completed on schedule as stipulated in the contract agreement.

The bridge which was flagged off on March 10, 2014 by former President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to be completed in 48 months (March 2018).
Measuring about 1,590 metres long the bridge whose construction cost was put at N117,860,700,741.82, VAT inclusive, forms part of the 11.90 kilometer length project.
Although officials of both the Federal Ministry of Works and Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, denied reports that work on the project has been discontinued, Vanguard Homes & Property which went to the Asaba and Onitsha ends of the project site last week, observed that only skeletal works are ongoing as most of the workers have allegedly been retrenched by the contractors.

Missouri Style Week, a showcase for area fashion designers, expands to offer Columbia runway show

Missouri doesn’t typically top many lists for major fashion hubs. Paris, Milan, London, New York … somehow, this region gets overlooked.
And yet, fashion has been an important part of the state’s history. The lucrative fur trade played a major role in the founding of St. Louis in the 1800s, and both St. Louis and Kansas City once had thriving garment districts — think textile mills and shoe factories — up until the 1960s.

“Over the decades, we’ve grown away from that,” said Cillah Hall, publisher of Gazelle STL, a glossy lifestyle magazine in St. Louis.
Still, she said, there is a strong creative current.
“A lot of designers are graduating from Missouri universities,” Hall said.

Jamie Hince continues to wear his wedding ring

Jamie Hince has been pictured for the first time, following claims that his marriage to supermodel Kate Moss is 'over'.
The Kills guitarist was pictured in good spirits as he enjoyed an al fresco lunch with a friend in London on Wednesday, while still wearing his wedding ring.
The rocker, 46, put on an animated display as he enjoyed what appeared to be a white wine spritzer while dressed in his trademark black outfit.
He wore skinny jeans, a baggy T-shirt and brown suede boots for the outing, as The Mirror reports he is hoping for a quick divorce from the supermodel, insisting he doesn't want her money.
However, the paper reports that he wants to keep his collection of vintage wines, with a source saying: 'He isn't interested in cash but wants his wine collection.
'That and a few other investments he has picked up – like a collection of antique books he has put together.
'He’s fond of Kate’s daughter Lila Grace and hopes it can remain friendly and they stay on good terms. Making sure he doesn’t take any of Kate’s wealth is all part of that.'
Supermodel Kate, 41, was thought to have a net worth of £26million in 2014.

Italian Heiress Beatrice Borromeo Stuns In Three Gowns For Religious Wedding

Beatrice Borromeo, 29, looked stunning for her religious wedding ceremony held in the coastal town of Stresa, Italy, Saturday. The Italian heiress commissioned two custom-made dresses by Giorgio Armani from the label’s Prive collection.
The second ceremony -- religious -- saw her first opting for a three-quarter length sleeve delicate lace gown with a train, and then she switched to a tulle wrap front sleeveless dress for the reception. Two family heirloom antique diamond wing brooches were pinned on the train.

WHY MORE DIVORCED PARENTS ARE STILL WEARING THEIR WEDDING RINGS

When Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced in June that their 10-year marriage had ended, their split followed the traditional post-separation script: Affleck moved out, and the two entered mediation to hammer out custody and financial arrangements.
Yet there’s one breakup step they skipped: Neither Affleck nor Garner has removed the wedding ring. Though they haven’t discussed it publicly, photos of the two taken after they officially broke up reveal their still-banded fingers.

Divorcing duos who continue to keep a ring on it appears to be a new trend. Newly single dads Patrick Dempsey and Lamar Odom reportedlystill wear their wedding bands. And noncelebrity moms and dads who have dissolved their marriages also seem to be in no hurry to reveal a bare ring finger.

Alleged N1tn diversion: Senate to probe Lamorde’s alleged diversion of N1tn

The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions will on Wednesday begin a probe of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, over an allegation that he fraudulently diverted over N1tn proceeds of corruption recovered by the anti-graft agency.
Part of the money alleged by a petitioner to have been diverted by the EFCC boss included the loot recovered from a former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha; and ex-Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun.
The petitioner, Mr. George Uboh, whose complaint to the Senate prompted the probe, has been invited to appear before the Senate committee at Meeting Room 120 of the New Senate Building, National Assembly Complex, Abuja, by 10am on Wednesday.
Similar invitation, it was learnt, had been extended to Lamorde to appear before the Senate committee the same time on Wednesday.
The fraud allegedly perpetrated by Larmode was said to have dated back to his days as the Director of Operations of the EFCC between 2003 and 2007, as well as an acting Chairman of the commission between June 2007 and May 2008, when the then chairman of the anti-graft agency, Mr. Nuhu Ribadu, was away for a course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.

In the theater world, Eleanor Cotey happily provides a stitch in time

If Eleanor Cotey were a member of the Avengers (and this is the kind of hypothetical question that could be discussed in the Cotey household), she might be called Needle.
She was born to sew and has not wavered from that calling, to the benefit and gratitude of local theater and dance companies.
Her handiwork, including her re-creations of vintage airline stewardess outfits, is helping Milwaukee Chamber Theatre bring to life its season-opening farce, "Boeing Boeing." Performances begin Aug. 13 at the Broadway Theatre Center, 158 N. Broadway.
Marc Camoletti's farce, featuring a bachelor in Paris juggling simultaneous romances with three stewardesses, had a successful life in the 1960s and spawned a 1965 film featuring Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis.
 photo:formal dress shops brisbane
A new English translation by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans gave this French farce a Badger flavor: Robert, the meek friend who visits swinging Bernard, is described as being from Wisconsin and was played in both London (2007) and on Broadway (2008) by Mark Rylance, who graduated from the University School of Milwaukee before going on to Shakespearean stardom. Rylance won a Tony for his performance.

7 Signs That There Is Trouble In Paradise For Kaitlyn and Shawn, Because The Honeymoon Can’t Last Forever

It’s only a matter of time with these Bachelor and Bachelorette couples. No matter how much I want to believe in their ability to make it work, no matter how much I believe in their body language and their adorable PDA and all of the public appearances they make post-final rose, there is always, eventually, a crack in their perfect surface. Eventually something happens—a rumor, a holiday spent apart, a paparazzi catching them without their rings—and the façade of their perfect coupledom starts to fade. So when I started hearing murmurings of things starting to head south for Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth, I wasn’t totally surprised. Bummed? Sure. Sad? Of course. But surprised? Not at all.
Because as much I want to believe that it is possible to find love in a hopeless place—thank you, Rihanna—given the statistics of theBachelor/Bachelorette couples who came before them, it’s pretty unlikely that Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth will make it last. Couple those cold, hardBachelorette statistics with the following troubling signs that have been cropping up around the interwebs, and it all very well could equal trouble in paradise for the adorable couple.
1. All Of That Jealousy
I still can’t shake what happened on this season of The Bachelorette. All of that posturing from Shawn and that super crazy jealousy he showed while Kaitlyn dated other men (i.e. the premise of the show) still make me worried that this will cause trouble for them in the long run. Trust is everything in a relationship, especially for such a public one.
2. It Took A Lot Of Tequila To Get Her To Say Yes To A Dress

Probe Fashola, Tinubu now, Bode George tells Buhari

A former National Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Bode George, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to take his anti-corruption war to the next level by probing the last two governors of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN).
George said in a statement that it would be wrong of Buhari to claim to be spearheading an anti-graft campaign and at the same time be considering Fashola for appointment in the light of the N78.3m of taxpayers’ money Fashola spent on a personal website, www.tundefashola.com.
He said Fashola’s excuse for spending N78.3m on a website was disgusting and should be rejected.

Buhari seeks ‘fearless’ judges to try looters

President Muhammadu Buhari has commenced the process of identifying a few fearless and courageous judges who will be saddled with the responsibility of prosecuting persons who have been found to have stolen national resources,
Buhari had while granting audience to members of the National Peace Committee led by Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar in the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday disclosed that the prosecution of the indicted persons would commence in a matter of weeks.
“Those who have stolen the national wealth will be in court in a matter of weeks and Nigerians will know those who have short-changed them,” the President had told his guests.
Our correspondent however learnt on Sunday that the prosecution would not be open to “just any judge.”
It was learnt that the President was committed to ensuring that only judges who would expedite action on the cases and would be fearless in discharging their duties would be enlisted for the prosecution.
A source confided in our correspondent that that was one of the assignments Buhari gave to the Prof. Itse Sagay-led Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption which he set up on Monday.

A seven-day curfew will begin  today after the remains of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, Olubuse II, must have been buried on Friday, the town’s chiefs have said.
The spokesperson for the chiefs, Chief Dejo Adejobi, told our correspondent on the telephone on Thursday that the restriction of movement for the rites would start from 4pm today and would past for the next seven days.
But asked what the chiefs would do to ensure that the curfew would not affect visitors who would attend the burial, Adejobi said, “I understand you. Yes, we cannot invite people for the burial service and still restrict their movement. But you should understand that the service will start by 10am and the restriction of movement will start from 4:pm.”
Meanwhile, the burial rites which would herald the interment of the late monarch continued on Thursday as town criers from the palace moved round the town to enforce the chiefs’ order.
A resident, who witnessed the scene, Wunmi Adeoye, told our correspondent that the town criers beat their gongs as they moved round, warning residents not to come out tomorrow because movement would be restricted to enable the chiefs to carry out the remaining rites.

Drug trafficking carrier pigeon detained in Costa Rica

A homing pigeon was intercepted by police at a prison near San Jose, Costa Rica, after it was seen by a guard landing in the jail’s courtyard with a bag tied to its body.

On inspection, the black zipper bag was found to contain 14g of cocaine and the same amount of marijuana.

Authorities suspect the bird was looked after and fed by an inmate in the medium-security wing of La Reforma prison, Costa Rica’s biggest penitentiary, before someone smuggled it out of the prison only to load it with illicit cargo ahead of its return route.
The director of Costa Rica’s prison police force told the media after the ruse had been exposed last Tuesday that the pigeon was able to fly perfectly well despite the drug-stuffed pouch strapped against its breast.

Senate to probe power sector under Obasanjo, Jonathan

The Senate on Thursday set up a 13-member Ad-Hoc Committee to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the management of funds so far appropriated for the power sector since 1999.
The Committee, headed by Senator Abubakar Kyari, was also given the task of probing the unbundling of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria by the Federal Government.
The Upper Chamber took the decision while passing a motion sponsored by the Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, seeking the immediate reconnection of some parts of Borno State back to the national grid in view of the challenges the blackout was posing to his constituents.

When asked specifically how far the restructuring could go, the NNPC boss said it would be a complete exercise.
Kachikwu also said after the personnel aspect must have been done with, he would order for a proper forensic audit covering 2014 and 2015.

Europe's Greatest Cover-Up Could Mean The Death Of The Euro

It’s kind of like selling goods to consumers with very bad credit and then being surprised when they don’t pay.
But before I get into that, we all know Greece owes Germany, the ECB, and the IMF a lot of money.
Last week I explained that if they went the "Grexit" route, 75% of Greece’s government debt would’ve been wiped clean. That’s $90 billion to Germany alone and about $250 billion to the rest of the euro zone. It would have hurt, but there’s no avoiding pain at this point, and now it’s only going to be worse.
But there is another level of debt almost no one is talking about.
In fact, we have a harder time getting good information on it because the EU has increasingly hidden it.
However, this debt gets at the heart of why Germany and some of the strongest opponents to a Grexit were so desperate to keep Greece in the euro zone.
This not-much-talked-about debt are the TARGET2 loans Greece (and other euro zone importers) owes the rest of them.
It’s a fancy way of saying "past due accounts receivables." Another way of saying this: “The check’s in the mail." Or: “We’ll pay you when we can."
Fat chance.

Dodgers' Latos stumbles in 10-3 loss to former Reds team

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mat Latos is searching for his old self on the mound and so far coming up short in three starts for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He stumbled to a 10-3 loss against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night, losing his first matchup against his former team, which traded him to Miami last December. He had some harsh words for the Reds after his departure.
"Who cares?" he said about the opponent. "Turn the page. It's done and over with. I got to worry about what I got here."

Latos (4-9) gave up five runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked one. The right-hander, acquired by the Dodgers last month, pitched well in a no-decision of his debut against the Angels, but his last two outings have ended in defeat.
