PDP’s Pwajok Wins Round One against APC’s Lalong at Tribunal in Plateau

The Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos, on Wednesday dismissed attempts by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to block the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from tendering vital documents to defend its case.

The petition is that of the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Gyang Pwajok, who is challenging the victory of Mr Simon Bako Lalong of the APC at the polls because he alleged foul plays in the election.

MRS Denies N6.2bn Indebtedness to FCMB

A major oil marketer, MRS Oil & Gas Company Limited, has kicked against the publication by First City Monument Bank Limited (FCMB), which listed the firm as being indebted to the bank to the tune of N6.2 billion.

FCMB on Tuesday, like other commercial banks in the country, had published its list of defaulting debtors, in a name and shame tactic which was first introduced by former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, to force them to repay their loans.

In FCMB’s list of defaulting debtors, MRS had topped it with N6.2 billion, which it said was the oil marketer’s indebtedness to the bank.
However, MRS’ management, in a statement yesterday, said that the oil marketing company does not owe FCMB the amount claimed in the publication, adding: “This is evidenced by the report of our forensic auditors MCL Solutions Ltd.”

Coca-Cola Hails Team Nigeria’s Special Olympics Unified Soccer Victory

Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited has congratulated Nigeria’s Unified Soccer team for emerging the winner of the 7-Aside Unified Soccer tournament, at the just concluded Special Olympics 2015 World Summer Games in Los Angeles, USA.

The team, sponsored by Coca-Cola Nigeria, clinched the Gold medal after defeating the Russian team in an intense final match that was decided on penalty shoot outs after a 2-2 draw at full time. The match ended in a 4-3 victory in favour of the Nigerian team.
To get to the final, Team Nigeria which was the toast of the tournament beat South Africa 6-0, Burkina Faso 3-1 and the highly rated German team by 1-0.

The team’s firing power was evidently buoyed by a month long pre-games training and practice sessions in Ijebu Ode where, under the auspices of Coca-Cola, some of Nigeria’s celebrated football stars including Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Babayaro, Peter Rufai and Ifeanyi Udenze volunteered hours of coaching that inspired the players and sharpened their skills for the encounter with teams from other countries.

He found acting like a woman 'exhausting,' and feels more free as a man 

Claims NHS should have checked his mental well-being more thoroughly

A transgender person who had a £10,000 sex change to become a woman, but now wants to become a man again, has criticised the NHS for not doing enough to make sure he wanted the initial surgery.

Matthew Attonley, 30, was born a boy and seven years ago started surgery to become a woman called Chelsea, but in the last six months he has taken steps to return to being a man called Matthew.  

He now wants the British health service to fund the £14,000 reversal process because he claims they didn't complete a rigorous enough mental evaluation before allowing him to go through the initial process.

Matthew Attonley, 30, who was born a boy, claims he had a £10,000 of medical help on the NHS to become a woman. He now wants the taxpayer to foot a further £14,000 bill to become a fully-functioning man again

He said: 'It's definitely not checked enough.

'People will hate me for that, but you have to live two full years as a woman to prove to the NHS that you are ready and there isn't enough psychiatric evaluation. 

'In the real life experience - those two years, I think maybe you should have a year of intensive weekly therapy just to keep pushing you, to keep checking you, keeping tabs. 

'Not just meetings every month or three months, or by letters or emails, but by intensive therapy.' 

After becoming a woman, Matthew became tired of putting on make-up and wearing heels, and he now accepts that she should always have stayed a man.
