Tensions accompanying the impending 2015 presidential election in Nigeria are building up. Nigerians have formed strong opinions about each party and their candidates. guest writer Abdulbaqi Aliyu Jari praises one of the APC’s aspirants, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), and explains why the latter is the most suitable person to rule Nigeria. He tries to convince his fellow compatriots to rise above religious and/or geopolitical sentiments.



“I would like to, in advance, congratulate General Muhammadu Buhari GCFR (rtd.) for his imminent victory in the APC primaries. Also, for his subsequent win in the presidential election in 2015. Among all the contenders in the APC, not to mention the ruling PDP, or any other parties, there is nobody who is as competent as Buhari to lead Nigeria. I’ve promised God, myself and Nigeria to be truthful, loyal and honest. I promised not to be a sectional  bigot, or tribal chauvinist. I promised to look for a good candidate to vote for, and urge others to vote for him. Although I am a satirist, I am not a Buhari narcissist, but, rather, a truth seeker.
