Agency Report

Six days after the deadly bomb blast that claimed over 100 hundred lives, at Nyanya on the outskirts of Abuja, the Boko Haram sect has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The leader of the sect Abubakar Shekau, in a video sent to the AFP on Saturday, claimed responsibility for the attack, boasting that the sect was right in Abuja but could not be seen by the security operatives.
Shekau said the sect had successfully carried out the bomb blast at Nyanya, Abuja, saying that his fighters were “right inside Abuja but nobody knows where they are staying in the city.”He assured that since Almighty Allah was with them, they would emerge victorious against ‘evil forces’.
The bombing at a motor park in Nyanya community between Abuja and Nasarawa State, had killed many people in the early part of Monday, drawing flanks from within Nigeria and the international community.
Though the Nyanya attack had been linked to a British woman terrorist named Samantha Lewthwaite, popularly known as White Widow, who is reportedly the world’s most wanted woman for terrorism, as of the time of filing this report, Sunday Tribune could not ascertain if Boko Haram acted alone in what many security experts described as a “clean job.”
“We are the ones who carried out the attack in Abuja,” Shekau said in the video message obtained by AFP, adding that “we are in your city but you don’t know where we are.”
Shekau, who was declared a global terrorist by the United States with a $7 million (5.1 million euro) bounty placed on his head, spoke in Arabic and Hausa language, wielding an AK 47 rifle.
The 28-minute video, however, made no reference to the abductions of teenaged girls from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok but the military, local officials and girls who have escaped have blamed that attack on Boko Haram.
